When asked "Which AI writing software is better?", the most common comparison method is to let several tools write a paragraph each, and then choose the one that is most pleasing to the eye based on feeling. This method seems straightforward, but in fact it is easy to make mistakes.
One tool received the complete material, while the other only received a subject line; one asked to write a public account notification, and the other only said "help me polish it"; what came out in the end was often a prompt, not a software.
A fair comparison must fix at least three things: original materials, writing requirements, and scoring criteria.

Don’t just look at the writing, check five things first
The first round is only generated once. Don't secretly add hints to a tool when you are not satisfied with the results. Compare the information in each completed article with the original text item by item, and then score according to the following five items.
- Facts: Date, address, opening hours, number of people and certification requirements are all correct. If one fact is wrong, this article cannot be delivered directly.

- Copilot in Word: You can rewrite selected content in the original document, compare multiple versions, replace or insert the results. Good for people whose deliverables are inherently Word files, but whether functionality appears depends on subscription and organizational settings.
These differences do not directly indicate who has the best writing skills, but they will determine whether you need to copy back and forth when revising the second and third drafts, whether you can retain the format of the original text, and whether you need to re-typeset the final delivery.
Finally, choose your delivery method
If you mainly draft from scratch, compare factual accuracy, structure and language first; if you already have a lot of work-in-progress, prioritize local modifications and version restoration; if the article must be submitted to Word or Google Docs, include export and format preservation in the results.
- Occasionally write short articles: a convenient general chat tool is usually enough.
- Frequently change long articles: It is more important to select local modifications, version switching and long article workspace.
- Team review: First check whether the original document, comments, permissions and collaboration process can be connected.
- The content involves facts: no matter which software scores high, keep the raw materials and check them one by one.
The most suitable AI writing software for you is not the one that writes a beautiful sentence at one time, but the one that uses the same real material for three consecutive rounds of revision, and still does not lose the facts, mess up the format, and does not make you do the typesetting one more time.
